Speaker: Prof. Rafael Gómez, Electromagnetism and Matter Physics Department, Universidad de Granada
The conference is composed of two different parts, with the common factor of being explained in a graphic manner, minimizing mathematical details, relating phenomena with electromagnetic radiation through images and videos obtained through analytical, numerical or experimental methods. The conference will be easy to understand for people not specialized in electromagnetism.
The first part is focused in explaining basic aspects of how, where and why electromagnetic radiation is produced. Some application examples in antenna design are shown, and how, from those results, we can deduce some characteristics of accelerated and charged elemental particle radiation.
In the second half of the lecture, we will show a selection of results obtained through the speaker’s and his research group’s projects with national and international businesses in the aeronautic industry, and in particular, the electromagnetic compatibility field in which the possible effects of external electromagnetic radiation in aerial navigation security, including the possible consequences of ray impact in planes.
